Origin and the First Unification Period
The Duchy of Patriante was formed from the remains of Old Jachowice, in mid-2025. The Duchy was originally split into two halves: the Ducato Orientale and the Territori Desertici di Patriante. The TDP was very impoverished at the time of unification, and appealed to eastern neighbours for support, which came in the form of unification. This trend continued during the First Unification Period, until settlers reached the east of the New World and colonised Patriante City in the name of the Duke.
Second Unification Period and the loss of Old Patriante
The Second Unification Period marked a decisive and deeply controversial shift in Patriantian history, defined by the abrupt abandonment of Old Patriante and the rapid consolidation of power in the New World settlement of Patriante City. State institutions and investment were withdrawn with little warning, redirecting resources toward ambitious projects intended to symbolize renewal and unity, including the construction of Patriante Arena for GeoVision, the Patriante Centrale railway station, and the initial groundworks of the SubTrax suburban railway network. This was reinforced by the opening of the first international rail connections to Jachowice and Rheinburg.
However, these developments were overshadowed by the highly controversial construction of the Palace of Patriante, established as the residence of the Duke and widely criticized as an emblem of excess. The financial strain of these projects coincided with the devaluation of the Patriantian Lira, sharp increases in the cost of living, and accelerating inflation, leading to widespread public dissatisfaction. As economic pressures mounted and perceptions of inequality deepened, small rebel militias began to form.
The Autumn Uprisings and the Patriantian Civil War
The Autumn Uprisings marked the outbreak of a civil war in the Duchy of Patriante, beginning when multiple armed factions and regional militias coalesced under the self-proclaimed Provisional Directorate of Patriante. Formed during the autumn months, the Directorate asserted sovereign authority, issued its own decrees, and attempted to replace ducal governance through coordinated military action. Fighting rapidly spread across the duchy, with transport networks, energy infrastructure, and communications systems targeted as both strategic objectives and instruments of pressure between opposing forces. The resulting breakdown of territorial control and public order led GeoVision to rule Patriante out as a viable host for the contest, citing the absence of any authority capable of guaranteeing security. As hostilities intensified and loyalist control collapsed, the Duke fled the country, leaving Patriante divided, leaderless, and trapped in a prolonged period of violence, political instability, and widespread public anger.
Bill-ish Patriante
After much fighting, and 300,000 fatalities, the Provisional Directorate of Patriante won the civil war, and elected teasipping_bill as its new leader to guide the country forward. Any more wiki entries will be done by him (hopefully 😄).
